New Boss man gives hope of haute future
Hugo Boss, Germany's largest clothing maker, rose in Frankfurt trading as the appointment of Christian Dior's Claus-Dietrich Lahrs (inset) as chief executive officer ended a three-month search for Bruno Saelzer's successor.
Boss-preferred shares climbed as much as 4.1pc and were up €1.15, or 3.8pc, to €31.64 in early German trade. The gain was the biggest in Germany's MDAX Index of medium-sized companies. Lahrs, Dior's chief operating officer, will start at Boss on August 1, the Metzingen-based company said last night. He replaces Saelzer, one of three directors who quit this year after Boss was bought by buyout firm Permira Advisers LLP. (Bloomberg) |
